Creating Empowered Education System
Thornton Township High School District 205 is a rich, diverse and vibrant community. Its residents believe in the best that our country has to offer. They deserve and expect the best possible education and related services for their children. The Putting Children First District 205 team believes that every student deserves the right to dream, to discover, and to develop their unique potential. For far too long, education has been adult centered and driven by politics and other non-student-centered perspectives. Now more than ever it is time to focus on our most valuable and untapped resource – our students. Our vision for quality student-centered education is simple:
Lead the district with ethics, integrity and strong accountability.
Operate financially within our means with balanced budgets and sound fiscal decisions
Hold the line of property taxes
Provide a first-class curriculum built on high expectations, aligned with state standards, is highly rigorous and prepares our students to be enrolled, enlisted or employed after graduation.
Partner with our partners at the municipal, state and federal levels as well as other non-governmental organizations to leverage all resources to support our students and the community.
